Applying the Colored Frames in PhotoDraw
To apply the edges and frames in PhotoDraw you will need to install two additional
plugins which are supplied on this CD-ROM.
I. Installing
the necessary plugins
1. Copy the file Msvcrt10.dll from the helpers sub folder of the
CD-ROM into your Windows System folder, if it isn't already there.
2a. Copy ApplyEdge.8bf and ApplyColoredFrame.8bf from the helpers sub folder of the CD-ROM into the PhotoDraw plug-in folder (which is mentioned in the Plug-Ins tab of the Options dialog that can be activated from the Tools menu).
II. Applying the Colored Frames
1. Open a photo file in PhotoDraw
2. Use "From File" or "Visual Insert" from the Insert menu to open an frame file.
3. Use "Arrange" from the Arrange menu or simply use the handles of the frame that surrounds the frame to adapt the frame to the size of the photo.
4. Drag the frame over the image to make it cover the whole photo.
5. Select "Plug-ins" from the Effects button menu.
6. In the Plugins dialog select "Edge & Frame Galaxy" from the drop down menu at the top, select "Apply Colored Frame" from the list box below and press the Launch button.
7. The default Threshold value in the Apply Colored Frame dialog is 32. This value should be fine for most frames. But you can also select a different value. The larger the value the smoother and more transparent the frame will become. The preview won't be of any use when adjusting the Threshold, because PhotoDraw doesn't support previewing more than one object.
8. After pressing the OK button, the inner area of the frame will be transparent and will let the photo shine through.
